Ive always had a prominent chin and i was wondering if localised removal of subdermal fat on the chin area would help make it look rounder? This isn't to remove a double chin but to decrease the size of the chin itself. I feel like with some subtle liposuction my chin could be made smaller without the need for evasive surgery. Would such a procedure be possible ?

Liposuction can remove small pockets of subdermal fat beneath the chin, but it doesn’t change the underlying bone structure. In your case, since your concern seems to be the prominence or projection of the chin itself rather than excess fat, liposuction alone may not achieve the contour you’re hoping for.

True chin reduction (mentoplasty or genioplasty) involves reshaping or repositioning the bone to reduce the chin’s projection, which is something liposuction can’t substitute for. However, there are less invasive options—such as injectable fillers or fat-dissolving treatments—that can sometimes create a more balanced appearance depending on your facial proportions.

A personalized assessment would help determine whether there’s enough submental fat to make a difference with liposuction, or if contouring approaches would be more effective.

The chin is usually not an area where there is a lot of fat that causes a problem. We do have soft tissue and bone shaping approaches to improve the chin, and in some cases, stronger Morpheus or similar could help.
