100% of people who seek chin and neck Liposuction have a deficient mandible size in relationship to their maxilla. The primary problem is not one of fat distribution, but rather a lack of skeletal support for the soft tissues. My personal experience with secondary skin tightening procedures facetite, Bodytite, Renuvion (J-plasma) has been pretty un impressive.Honestly, I can’t tell the difference when these devices are used and when they’re not.I say this from firsthand experience. In fact, I’ve never had a patient tell me they thought their skin was tighter after using these treatments. you can 100% get the same result without using facetite. The very best candidate for Liposuction is always going to be young people who have great skin elasticity. The second variable that adds to someone’s candidacy is having a thick layer of subcutaneous fat to work with.Put the chin and neck you don’t need a thick layer of fat to get impressive results. It is however, more difficult to get consistent quality results with this procedure than most people realize. There is massive difference in provider technique for Liposuction. It’s not simply just removing the fat in this area. The fat has to be removed parallel to the jawline to get definition. It’s not really something that can easily be explained in writing. My best recommendation for you is this.Always bring proper facial pictures to use as reference during every consultation.Schedule every consultation as an in person consultation, not as a virtual consultation. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of it before and after pictures of previous patients who had the same facial characteristics as you do.This means they should also be young and have the same relationship between their mandible and maxilla. They should have approximately the same amount of subcutaneous fat. They should look like you do on the before pictures.Use the pictures of yourself as a reference when you’re reviewing the before and after pictures.A sufficiently experience provider should have no difficulty showing you lots of previous cases of patients who look just like you do. If they don’t, then maybe you’re not with the right provider.Look for doctors who do Liposuction exclusively or this represents a major part of their practice.Look for surgeons who love doing Liposuction and do it all the time.Ask surgeons what procedures they do more commonly.Ask how often they do chin and neck Liposuction. If they claim to do it every two months, then they should have at least six sets of before, and after pictures for every year they’ve practiced. If providers give you excuses of why they don’t have more pictures to show you then you’re with the wrong doctor.First and foremost, understand what quality results should look like.Once you know what it should look like then you can vet the provider regarding their skill.Chin and neck Liposuction results or what the neck looks like can be altered by neck position. If the neck is extended, the tissues are put under tension And the jawline usually looks much better.Look carefully at before, and after pictures to make sure the angle of the head is the same before and after. If the head is tilted back or the neck is extended in the after pictures on a consistent basis, then the pictures are really a little deceptive.Learning how to vet plastic surgeons appropriately is not easy or straightforward.Usually, the right provider will have more before, and after pictures and be quite honest. The right provider will not try to sell you on the equipment, but rather their skill and especially their experience.Truly experience providers will have an unlimited number of before, and after pictures to show you. Providers who can show you an impressive collection of before, and after pictures are less likely to leave you with permanent disfigurement, which can happen after this operation. To me an impressive collection of before and after pictures should include at least 20 previous patients whose characteristics are similar to your own. The surgeon should have more pictures than you have time to look at during the consultation. It really takes decades of doing this procedure over and over and over before someone gets to the point of having mastered it.Doing these procedures well is much more difficult than most people realize. An experienced surgeon will know this.Inexperienced providers may think it’s a pretty easy operation. It’s not difficult to do Liposuction but it’s really difficult to do it well on a consistent basis. When in doubt, slow down and schedule more consultations. The more consultations you scheduled the better off you are. You’ll hear repeating themes and you’ll get better at vetting surgeons.Remember to get a set of quality facial pictures like the ones you showed here except they should include more of your face and use those as reference whenever you review before and after pictures. Surgeons give great results and Equipment makes no difference,If some device gave us consistently better results, we would all be using it.This has always been true.Things that work become the standard of care.Things that only some doctors do (or use) usually are fads that come and go.This response was dictated. My apologies for grammatical errors and the rambling nature.Good luck with your procedure.Mats Hagstrom MD
