I'm 40 years female and Im considering rhinoplasty. I have croocked nose, mostly towards the tip. Tip is slightly protruding on one side, creating uneven profiles. I also think I have collapsing nasal valve on the left? Will surgery be more complicated/expensive in my case? Will graft be needed as well? Can this deformity worsen as I age and create breathing problems? Thank you .

Answer: Grafts are often necessary in rhinoplasty Grafts, sometimes, multiple, are used frequently in rhinoplasty to help restore stucture and durability to the nose. Based off of the photos alone, it looks like the bottom 2/3s of the nose are crooked, which may be related to underlying septal deviation and irregularity of the tip cartilages. Following septoplasty to fix the deviated septum, it may be necessary to support the septum with a graft. Grafts may also be used to address valve collapse of narrowing. Prices vary by surgeon and you may be able to have your health insurance cover some of the costs. You would likely benefit from in-person consultation for a full nasal exam, best of luck!

Answer: Rhinoplasty surgery Your rhinoplasty surgery should be fairly straightforward. I don’t see an obvious need for a cartilage craft, but each surgeon will have their own way of doing things. Like all people you have facial asymmetry. This can contribute significantly to the nose looking asymmetrical. It looks like your left mid face has more projection than the right side. All people have facial asymmetry. This can sometimes be seen as a nose looking asymmetrical as well. Each anatomic area looks the way it does in context to surrounding areas. I suggest you have a few in person consultations with plastic surgeons in your community, who seem to have a lot of experience or ideally specialize exclusively in rhinoplasty surgery.
