I have so much loose skin on my face, which becomes very apparent when I move my head. I want a lasting plump appearance without fillers around my nose, chin and cheeks. Would I be a good candidate for an advanced mini lift, with my own fat for volume?
Answer: Ehrles Danlos You look awsome. No need for a face lift here and if a vampire lift can do that I would stick with a winner.True that the skin in this condition has elasticity issue, but when you get to the point where injections no longer cut it for you, then you may have to consider a face lift. You just have to be prepared for a more rapid recurrence and the need for ongoing revisions. Expensive and disappointing, but maybe better than a handful of excess skin hanging down your face.Stay away from the knife as long as you can.

Answer: Facelift & Ehlers Danlos Syndrome I don't think that a facelift is the right call for you. While it may deliver benefit in the short term, the results won't last due to your condition. And given the fact that this would be an expensive endeavor for you, I wouldn't risk it. Your best bet would be fat grafting. However, this is your face. It's not an area where it is smart to cut corners so you want to see a truly experienced surgeon. If you can't then just let things be. Wish I had better news...

Answer: Facelift with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome coia74, Thanks for your question and picture. I personally have not performed a facelift on an EDS patient, but our teaching is that patients with collagen disorders can have thinner skin, a different response to anesthetics, and thicker scars despite using sutures that stay in for a longer period of time. I would seriously weigh the potential consequences of surgery prior to getting into it, as you look great on the picture you provided, and I would hate for you to be left with a look (or complication due to surgery!) that you are less happy with than your current appearance. A less invasive option, such as fat transfer without a facelift, may be a better option given your early age and less risk. Good luck!

Answer: Have you performed a facelift on a patient with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Before? Hi, I have performed facelifts for over 30 years and have performed many minimally, invasive SMAS facelifts. Sadly, this skin syndrome is a contraindication for any type of facelift procedure as the skin laxity will quickly return. I wish that I had better news.
