Ptosis overcorrection. Any thoughts as to what I should do? Will massage and time help correct this? (photos)

It is a question that your surgeon is best equipped to answer. He knows what was done and what sutures are done and how patients heal in his/her hands. There is pros and cons and operating too early. Communicate with your surgeon.

Thank you for sharing your question and posting your photo. Your eyelid is elevated too high and appears tethered upon downgaze. From the look of your left upper eyelid in the photographs, revision is something I would strongly consider at this point. Have a comprehensive evaluation performed by an Oculoplastic Surgeon for appropriate guidance. Good luck.

Your question is a good but challenging one! Ptosis ("toe-sis") is a drooping of the eyelid due to a weakness of the eyelid muscle. Ptosis surgery is very technical and requires great precision to have a natural, beautiful outcome.  Few surgeons are masters at this condition. Even in the best hands this surgery can be quite tough to achieve symmetry. You are very early in your recovery from your second operation, and the left upper eyelid has issues that might be correctable. Please discuss with your surgeon, and if you are not comfortable with him/her, please seek a second-opinion. Ptosis is never simple or easy -- you need a true expert at this point. At 8 days, you are still early in the recovery process and swollen. If you have not seen your surgeon yet for your first post-operative visit, I would discuss this soon. Depending on the examination, he may decide to revise it or suggest massaging to bring it down. Best of luck.
