I have congenital unilateral ptosis that I am interested in having repaired. I am wondering what the time line is on the recovery with the Muller's technique? I am getting married in about 4-5 months so I would like a professional's opinion as to whether there is enough time to have the procedure done now or if it is best to wait until after the wedding.
For the longest time, I just thought I had a lazy eye and would get ptosis to fix it but last year, I saw more of the unevenness and how droopy my right eye/side feels and looks. I also noticed the bulging in both eyes. After tons of google searches and researching, I finally found out about orbital decompression surgery. I had a consultation with an oculoplastic surgeon, and he recommended a OD, eyebrow lift and fat transfer under eyes. My lingering concerns are the fact that my left and right eye are so different. The left side of my face appears to be lifted higher more than the left. My brow, eye and cheek. The right side seems to droop, and the eye is lower. My concern is that my left eye is rounded and appears smaller while the left is more almond shaped and lower, but the surgeon said when he took measurements, the left eye was more pronounced than the right. My face itself is very uneven. I'm confused and wondering if I should go through with the surgery at this point. I've already had a second visit with the surgeon, and he said it will be more balanced, not exactly even. I've tried to get a second opinion but the surgeons I've contacted consultation fees are $500. I'm just hoping for more insight and opinions. Thank you
Im 25 year old male with multiple facial injuries from sports, mostly baseball and football. I have had drooping eyelids present for the past few years but I have started to see noticeable drooping in pictures and would like it corrected.
I asked an earlier question about a blethroplasty, but I was advised I may not be a candidate. I was told to look into ptosis repair, which is not something I understand. I want to see if I can open my eyes a bit to contradict my heavier brow bone. Would love a few more opinions so I can talk intelligently at my consult next month. Ptosis repair vs canthroplasty vs blethroplasty.
For a few years now i have noticed my left eyelid is lower than the right. I dont believe it was always like this (unless it was very subtle to begin with). From minimal research, im not sure if it may be ptosis, extra eyelid skin, or something else. Is there a way to fix this, and what might it be?
i have congenital ptosis of the left eye, had 2 previous ops, i have just had a 3rd revision, this time it was over corrected a small amount intentionally, its been 10 days + still healing which i understand but it looks worse than before, the crease appears to be too high and more excess skin, it feels really heavy on the eyelash part of my lid, as i said Im aware its still partially swollen, but i cant help but feel like this will be the end result. Would it be best to revise now or wait?
My eyebrows are relaxed in the first picture. My eyes are uneven and my eyelids are droopy. Even if I'm raising my eyebrows, which I subconsciously do all the time ( 2nd picture), there's not much of a difference. What is the best way to address this? I'm only 27 and I feel like my eyes age me so much, they make me look tired and unfeminine.
If someone has acquired ptosis due to an injury, Is it possible to use scanning technology such as CT scans to confirm if the levator muscle is dis-inserted? Do surgeons ever do this? if not, is there a reason why they don't?
About 5 years ago I had an initial, and a revision ptosis surgery. However, as a result, the eye was left with an extra upper eyelid fold and in asymmetrical in relation to the other eye. I believe this may be due to the above area being too hollow. Would filler in the area create more volume to help pull (and hide) the double eyelid back into place? If so, how long does this last? If not, what are my alternatives?
