Is the scar worse for dissolvable stitches vs. non dissolvable?

I'm scheduled for a breast augmentation. My surgeon said he uses dissolvable sutures. This is a primary breast augmentation using Mentor moderate extra profile with possibly a 400CC implant with an inframammary incision. I breastfed two kids and have little breast tissue.

There is no indication that absorbable or non absorbable e sutures make any difference in the final scar. It’s simply personal preference on the part of the surgeon.

There are conflicting opinions on the advantages and disadvantages of different types of sutures. Most would agree that the skill and technique of the surgeon is far more important than the type of sutures used.

I use dissolvable sutures for a nice scar results, avoiding the discomfort of suture removal, and avoiding any outside stitch mark scars.
