I had gum graft done 8 days ago and the pain seems to be getting worse, especially at night, could there be an issue?

The roof of my mouth where they took the tissue from is extremely sore. Where they place the tissue is very soft when I touch it. I also have a bad taste in my mouth, I'm using the mouth wash and am due to see the doctor in a week. I was told there would be pain, but it's getting worse not better could I have a problem?

Gum graft success is based on blood supply to the graft. If the graft moves around most likely it will not survive. Hopefully one time hitting the area did not cause any damage. Fishy smell after surgery, bad taste in the mouth could be indication of infection Usually this could be treated in early stages by taking a stronger antibiotic If left untreated and infection worsens,  the graft will need to be taken out or might even slough off by itself.
