Hi, immediately after the surgery I recommend using an antibiotic ophthalmic ointment. Two to three weeks after surgery, I suggest massaging vitamin E oil into the wound which helps with wound remodeling, followed by Aquaphor. You can resume all normal activities approximately 10-14 days after surgery. Hope that helps.
Surgical scars can become red, hypertrophic, inflamed, and thickened. In our office, we use a combination approach that includes pulsed dye laser, Plato's Scar gel used twice daily, fractional laser, and Kenalog IIT to reduce the scar. Topical therapies are great first-line therapy. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon
Thank you for your question. Definitely follow your surgeons protocol. You can put creams on the incision 2 weeks after surgery, however be careful as this is near the eye. Kelo-cote is a good silicone gel cream used for scarring. The Upper Eyelid and Lower Eyelid scar do normally heal well. All The Best
OF course ask your doctor. But in general, incision for a low blepharoplasty is very close to the eye, then is not good idea to use creams with the potential to enter your eyes.About second question, I will respond my patient, "when you feel you are ready" but any case at least 2 weeks after surgery.
