Internal tarsal fixation vs common blepharoplasty? (Photo)

Australian Dr. Bryan Mendelson uses tarsal fixation instead of removing excess skin and fat from the upper eyelids in order to create a correction and lift in the eyelid. He says this is to prevent skin stretching and instead give long lasting results. See here: https://bmendelson.com.au/eyelids/ Would this procedure, however, give the same striking results as common practice eyelid surgery (removal of skin and fat)? Mendelson does promote a slightly underdone but natural result?

His website does not feature many before and after pictures so it is difficult to form an opinion. What I do notice is that some of the before and afters of the eyelids demonstrate upper eyelid ptosis that has not been addressed. This suggests that the ptosis has gone unrepaired. Also these creases look high. So you should decide for yourself if this approach makes sense for what you are looking for. There is no substitute an actual personal assessment.

We all use different techniques to achieve are best results.  My recommendation is to review pre and post op photos with your potential doctor and make sure you like their results.  It’s not important how they achieve it as long as you like it.  The key to upper blepharoplasty is most dependent on the design of how much skin to remove.  The way it is sutured is not nearly as important as the lids heal very well.
