Really need to see an oculoplastic specialist and/or ENT specialist to make the diagnosis of silent sinus syndrome. There could be other causes of eye asymmetry too.
thank you for your question and photo. My advice would be to start with an ASOPRS oculoplastic surgeon whO can assess whether the asymmetry you are noticing is due to silent sinus syndrome by obtaining some Imaging. If in fact it is silent sinus syndrome, you will most likely work in concert with both an oculoplastic surgeon and an ENT surgeon. Best of luck!
Sarah2757, I would see an ENT physician or an oculoplastic surgeon. Most likely however the asymmetry you are seeing is within normal limits. Good luck!
Hi greetings from the UK. Difficult to say if you've got enophthalmos just looking at these pictures which is what you're wondering about. Enophthalmos and globe dystopia can be caused by silent sinus syndrome (in addition to a multitude of other conditions). If you're concerned then ideally you should see an oculoplastic surgeon who'll be able to measure your globe position with an exophthalmometer (and perform an orbital examination ) and then manage accordingly. This may include orbital and sinus imaging. Best WishesDavid
Consultation with an Oculoplastics specialist will provide you with an accurate diagnosis and answers to your questions. Orbital, eyelid, and facial examination give clues to diagnose the cause of your asymmetry. You may have normal asymmetry (subtle "hemifacial microsomia" which does not require treatment), thyroid issues, sinus problems, etc. There are may potential causes of asymmetry and not all have to be treated. You may also need evaluation by an ENT specialist, but I would start with the Oculoplastics specialist for detailed orbital examination. ASOPRS.org website has a listing of specialists in your area. Best wishes.
Botox can be used to improve wrinkles around the eye. Deeper wrinkles need a combination approach with Botox and lasers, microneedling/prp and fillers. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
It's difficult to tell from the photos provided but you may find improvement with Morpheus8 treatments. They work by stimulating your body's natural collagen production. Visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you for a consultation.
Thank you for your question. We advise avoiding direct sun exposure for 6 months. This means covering the area or wearing very high sun protection. If you wear eye googles or pads to cover the area this should be suffice. All The Best
The skin of the eyelid is some of the thinnest skin in the body and consequently usually heals with an imperceptible scar. The little bumps that occur after surgery are common and usually resolve in 4-6 weeks as the body remodels the collagen in the scar tissue. Each surgeon has a protocol so...
When performed as a sterile procedure, eyelid surgeries have a very low rate of infection. Eyelid surgeries are also generally much less invasive than other surgeries. I have my patients on antibiotics during and after surgery to minimize this risk even further. If a patient is having general...
It will continue to get better. Gently push up the lower lid with your finger 30 times a day and do a lot of smiling to activate your orbicularis muscle. This will help it move along. RegardsDr. J
