Loving results so far! This is day 4 post op. Doing my massages. Obviously things are still sitting high and tight- but will my boobs drop a little closer together as they heal?! Is there a way to tell?
Answer: BA results Dear mcalawso, I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process at 4 days post op.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery. Answer: Will I get more cleavage as I “drop and fluff”? I think that you have a good understanding already in that it is too early to evaluate the outcome of the procedure performed. Having said that, I do not think that the space between your breasts will change much, if at all, as the breast implants "drop and fluff". Generally speaking, breast implants will "drop" into the pocket that was created during surgery and massaging the implants and downward may assist in the dropping of the implants after surgery (for those patients who want to help with the settling of the implants). The rate of breast implant "settling" may depend on factors such as size of breast implant pocket dissected, tightness of the overlying skin/muscle layers, size of breast implant utilized, and concerns such as pre-existing breast asymmetry. Also, in my opinion, the "drop and fluff” phenomenon does hold some validity; as breast implants “settle”, many patients feel that their breasts actually look larger. As breast implants "settle", the nipple/areola complexes appear higher on each breast mound. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be pleased with long-term.

Answer: Brests soften as they heal and drop and fluff... but the space between the mounds will not miraculously decrease. With push up bras, they may meet and kiss but otherwise you will not have a smaller space. If that was very important to you, it should be been brought up in your pre-op planning so your surgeon could have counseled you on the risks of diminishing the inter-mammary distance. You look like you will have a great outcome with what you have and realize how much better you are than with what you started with.

Answer: Cleavage They will not drop closer together as you heal. The placement of the implants and your natural cleavage is based on your anatomy pre-op. They will, however, become softer as you heal and you will be able to push them together to form the look of the cleavage you desire.
