Are titanium plates and metal screws carcinogenic?

I would like to know the risk associated with having plate and screws in my chin since I am considering a genioplasty. I have been reading about the potential of these materials being carcinogenic. Is there a risk for cancer or other health conditions due to these materials being left in the body (face) forever?
