6 months post sliding genioplasty - am I fully healed?

I had a sliding genioplasty 6 months ago with movements of 6 mm forward, 3 mm down, and 3 mm widening. I recently had a panoramic X-ray done at the dentists office and was wondering if my chin is fully healed? I do see a faint black line where the cut was made and slight dark circle on one side where a titanium screw is. Based on the picture, is the bone fully healed?

Your overall facial structure is fairly balanced. If you are looking to make subtle changes, you may want to consider jawline and chin contouring. This essentially entails shaving down the bone to create more contour, and in your case, bring the chin back a bit without having to cut the bone...

The shape of the chin and the aesthetic goals will influence the type of cut in the bone. That central portion of the cut looks a little higher and closer to the roots of the teeth. it may not be an exact representation of the surgeons plans.

You are a candidate for jaw surgery and have an open bite. If you are strictly looking for a cosmetic procedure, then you could benefit from a genioplasty. Your chin is a bit short and quite recessed. Moving it forward and down would bring balance to your profile while elongating your jawline....

I am not sure that I would recommend chin augmentation based only on these photos? However, in person consultation with 3D simulation and discussion about your goals, would help to make appropriate decision. Hope this helps.

You are a candidate for a genioplasty and your photo is very reasonable. Moving your chin forward and down would add length and projection to your chin, balancing out your profile.
