I am 11 months post op. The doctor insisted on putting grafts into the two dents on the underside of the tip of my nose. I feel like my nose looks deformed now. Blue is before red is after.
Answer: Mild nasal tip asymmetry does not always mean revision rhinoplasty. We can see that you have some mild nasal tip asymmetries after your surgery, and they do not appear to have been there before surgery. If I had to guess, you likely had a profile hump removed at the time of your surgery. You certainly do not look deformed, based on the photos you posted. Depending on your examination, microdroplet Silikon-1000 injections may be considered for improving upon your nasal tip symmetry, by adding volume, for a more pleasing nasal appearance. I hope this is helpful. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Seems the bridge of your nose is wide and the tip is long, hanging down... ... but you didn't post any profile views or 3/4 views to really show what's going on with the nose as a whole. In general, a revision can make improvements, but it has to be planned well. Further, remember that rhinoplasty, especially revision rhinoplasty, is an exquisitely difficult operation to get right, and you should only have surgery if you are able to make yourself very confident in your surgeon's skills. The changes that your nose needs require advanced techniques, and skill that most plastic surgeons don't possess with expertise. It's much better to not have surgery than to have inexpertly-performed surgery.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for the question. It is somewhat difficult to assess the infratip of your nose based on the photographs you have provided. Your surgeon may have been referring to an infratip shield graft to improve the contour in this region, although this may not be the case. I would recommend discussing your concerns with your surgeon who can give you the details of what were done during your surgery and also provide options for management of your concerns.

Answer: Revision rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining revision rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Cartilage grafts may also be used to help improve tip refinement. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
