Revision tummy tuck? Belly button weird (Photo)

Question

I had an umbilical float surgery 8 months ago to fix an umbilical hernia and tighten the muscles. The belly button was lowered a little bit. Now it looks a bit strange and still have some loose skin above, more so below the bellybutton. What is the best way to fix the belly button without a fully tummy tuck? I scar hypertrophic normally.

Some of the excess skin around your belly button can be removed, but the scar will be at the edge. If it hypertrophies, steroid injections and micro-needling can be done to help soften the thick scar.

You're absolutely right that appearance is most likely from excess skin that still presence above your belly button. Short of doing a full abdominolplasty or a reverse tummy tuck, probably the simplest thing to do excise or remove that extra skin that's sitting around the umbilicus, which may not be a great option since you tend to form hypertrophic scars. As I remind my patient doing consultations, sometimes one has to make choices from not very good options. Hope you found this helpful!

The skin around the umbilicus can be removed.   Involves a scar around the umbilicus.

It’s difficult to make an assessment based on the pictures you’ve included.
Your pictures look like you haven’t had surgery.
Your abdominal wall is bulging and I don’t see an incision.
Correcting the appearance of the umbilicus becomes very difficult if you’ve had the umbilicus severed during a floating bellybutton type, tummy tuck.
I suggest posting with a complete set of proper before and after pictures.
If you don’t have before and after pictures and ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took.
I’m not a big fan of floating bellybutton surgery.
