I need a second opinion. I have a scheduled appointment for egg preservation approximately two months prior to me going to have selective surgery, which is a brazilian butt lift. My surgeon said it's okay as long as I'm off all medications at least 30 days before the procedure. I am concerned that I may still have some of the effects of the fertility medications in my body during my surgery. How long should I wait between procedures?

Answer: BBL and fertility medications In general, it's advisable to wait until the effects of fertility medications have fully resolved before undergoing elective surgeries such as a Brazilian butt lift. Fertility medications, such as those used for egg preservation, can have various effects on the body, including hormonal changes and potential side effects. The duration for which fertility medications and their effects remain in the body can vary depending on the specific medications used and individual factors. Typically, the effects of fertility medications may subside within a few weeks to a couple of months after completing the course of treatment. It's important to discuss your concerns with both your fertility specialist and your surgeon. They can evaluate your situation, review your medical records, and provide personalized advice based on your individual circumstances. They may recommend a specific waiting period between the procedures to ensure optimal safety and outcomes. I hope this helps, best of luck !

Answer: Second opinion You do not need a second opinion. Your surgeon answered your question and you should follow their protocol. If you want to follow a different protocol then you should find a different surgeon. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
