Will I be able to request IV anesthesia instead of gas inhalation for my liposuction?

Hello, I will be getting liposuction and skin excision to my arms and wanted to know if I’m able to request IV anesthesia (TIVA) instead of gas inhalation. Gas makes me sick and there’s a higher risk for urine retention as well as a longer recovery with gas. I did ask my surgeon and she said she’ll let it up to the anesthesiologist. I’m nervous the anesthesiologist will say no. My recovery with IV anesthesia in the past has always been smooth, but gas was rough. Thank you!
