Is it wise to get a seperate under anesthesia liposuction for entire belly, back, shoulders and arms first. Then after months get a tummy tuck. Then after a few years (savings) get an arm lift? I don’t see much liposuction when it is combined within the tummy tuck, but you do pay a lot for it. That is why I thought a seperate procedure for the complete liposuction might be worthwhile… How about the risk at nerve damage, is it higher for shoulders or arms liposuction?
Answer: Staging procedures From the submitted photos it doesn't appear you would need to have the liposuction and tummy tuck procedures done in stages. If you would feel more comfortable doing so you may want to consider having the tummy tuck performed first and then once healed return for liposuction to further contour your results. See a board certified plastic surgeon near you to learn more.

Answer: Tummy tuck then liposuction and arm lift I always recommend doing the tummy tuck prior to liposuction. If you are not planning future pregnancies, I recommend abdominoplasty with mesh reinforcement. The mesh creates a more hourglass figure by compressing the abdominal wall resulting in early satiety and helps maintain a reduced weight. Once this has been completed, you can consider liposuction, if needed. If you are interested in an arm lift then that can be done at the time of the tummy tuck or liposuction to save you money. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Never lipo before TT Liposuction will let a lot of scar tissue which will never disappear from your body. Fibrosis is the internal scar tissue as is a scar after any cut on the skin, it never disappears. You have lost a significant amount of weight and have developed significant saggy tissues in your abdomen, lovehandles, buttocks, arms. So your approach must be taken by an expert on After Weight Loss surgery: Lower body lift which means a 360 incision to treat above the incision (skin removal) and below the incision (lifting effect on mons pubic area, front thighs and buttocks), muscle repair, liposuction to waist lovehandles and use that fat to transfer to buttocks and a bit to hips to create a more feminine body shape. 6 months later you may have the arms done and lipo to abdomen and if you want, some more fat to butt and hips. Be encouraged!! Dr. Cardenas

Answer: Liposuction and tummy tuck The only time I would recommend liposuction at least 6 months prior to a tummy tuck is when patients have a bulge of fat in the upper abdomen. You don't seem to have it and I don't see why you would do it in two stages. You have a bit of fat bulge on the sides but that area can be treated with liposuction at the time of your tummy tuck without compromising the blood supple to the lower abdomen. Arms can be done at any time.

Answer: Liposuction The risk of nerve damage is very low with liposuction since the vacuum pressure in the tube does not damage nerves. The advantage of doing all the liposuction first is that the OR time is shortened, and liposuction of the abdomen can be done to remove excess fat. If the tummy tuck is done at the same time, the abdomen cannot have liposuction for safety to the lower skin, and more time is added to the general surgery. We typically wait at least 6 months after liposuction before proceeding with the arm tuck or the tummy tuck.
