Columella graft changing smile - how can this be fixed? (Photos)
I got a revision rhinoplasty two years ago and he put in a large columella with rib graft. It formed a very prominent crease when I smile and just talking and prevents my upper lip muscle from fully moving up. A year later he shortened the columella a little which helped slightly, but I’m still having the same issue and it has completely changed my smile. I constantly feel resistance when I move my mouth and it’s suppressing my upper lip muscle. I got a lip lift a year before the surgery and it did not affect my smile whatsoever, but he is blaming this on the lip lift. It clearly is happening because the graft is hard and low. The graft is also at a slight slant so it sits lower inside making the resistance more prominent. It is weighing on my mental health significantly. Last appointment he didn’t say if he could fix it but wanted to wait longer to assess. It has been 8 months since the last surgery. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I’m desperate at this point. This can’t be the final solution.
