Does this appear to be symmastia? 2 months post-op breast lift with implants.

Question

Had BAM 2 months ago. Had issues with incisions, one got a hole and drainage with some blood(no puss) 2 weeks after procedure, was told it was spitting suture, 2-3 weeks later other incision did the same but several spots, second incision MD stated he was able to stick a swab into the incision and feel beneath the skin to each side. Put skintegrity with gauze, healed quickly but noticing more the skin between my breast does not feel like attached. I do have inspira natrelle 550s under muscle.

HEALING OF SENSORY NERVES: Tingling, burning or shooting pains, which will disappear
with time and should not alarm you, indicate regeneration of the sensory
nerves. If these sensations cause pain, repeated, local self-massage helps.

ASYMMETRY: The two breasts commonly heal quite differently. One
breast may swell more, feel more uncomfortable, or have a different initial
shape. After complete healing, they will be more similar and natural. You must
have patience, but if this causes concern, ask questions of the doctor or the
nursing staff.

SHAPE AND CONTOUR: The final shape of your breasts will start to look its
best approximately three (3) months after surgery. It takes time for the skin
and muscle to stretch and relax around the new implant. The breast will often
look higher, firmer, and “less natural” in the first three (3) months. It can
take up to a year to see your final result.

FOLLOW-UP EXAMS: These are generally done in 1 week, 2 to 3
weeks, 3 to 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months to 1 year, and 1-2 year intervals. In
our office we include all of your follow up appointments in the initial
surgical fee.

While the implants may still be settling into place, you should never hesitate about taking your healing process and questions to your surgeon to have the area examined and make sure that everything is going well.

Thank for your inquiry, I do not see symmastia from the pictures you provided.  Also it is very rare for under the muscle implants to lead to symmastia.  Please discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon.

Your concerns are understandable but based on the photographs, you do not have symmastia (you may find the attached link, demonstrating true cases of breast implant displacement interesting to you). It is likely that you have some swelling and/or tenting in the cleavage area (exaggerated in appearance with use of bra or tight fitting clothing).  Continue to follow-up with your plastic surgeon who will always be your best resource for advice/reassurance.
