Chin tightness a year and a half after implant - should I be worried?

It's been a year and a half since I received by chin implant. The only complication I had was that the incision got infected so it was slow to heal. It has since healed. I like the way it turned out but I still have the tightness around my chin as if post op. There are days were I feel it a lot and days that I don't feel it at all. Should I be worried?

That said, if the chin tightness is very bothersome to you, an examination is warranted. Sometimes a dilute steroid injection in the area of the implant can serve to loosen some excessive scar tissue. It all depends upon your examination. Wishing you well. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

A lot of surgical procedures will create a permanent change in bodies sensation.
If you’re out, then you can probably expect that this sensation will continue.
Think of it as the new normal.
Did you have an intraoral approach? Usually if the wound is infected, then the implant has been infected as well.
It is possible to clear infections around foreign bodies in the face.
Usually in other parts of the body once a foreign body is contaminated it generally needs to be removed because infected foreign bodies can usually not be cleared to bacteria.
In the face things are a little bit different.
