Chills and sweating bouts 11 days post TT and liposuction. Is this menopause issues or something more serious?

I’m 11 days post-op from abdominoplasty And lipo front and back. So far everything looks good. However, my belly button is leaking a bit and my surgical glue is still firmly place. I’m also still very swollen and i feel VERY tight. Today I’m feeling very tired and keep getting cold chills and then Sweating bouta. I’m trying to figure out if this is my menopause acting up or if something could be going on.. Please advise. Thank you

While you could have hormonal issues, it could also be a wound infection. You should see your plastic surgeon at the earliest, so that he can examine you and take care of any problems. All The Best !

Chills, tiredness, and sweating are typical precursors of an infection. Best to schedule a follow-up with your PS to determine if an antibiotic is necessary.

At 11 days post op, swelling is normal. Regarding chills and sweats you need to report to your  surgeon, who knows you best, to determine the cause. Good luck.

Any time you are experiencing new symptoms that are concerning you need to contact your surgeon for advice.  Swelling is common and expected at this phase of healing, but if you feel it is excessive your surgeon needs to assess you.  Chills and sweating could be symptoms of an infection and again should be discussed with your surgeon.

Thank you for reaching out.  Swelling is a normal part of healing, especially 11 days post-op.  I suggest you follow up with your Plastic Surgeon regarding your chills and sweating.  An in person evaluation by your surgeon will help to rule out an infection. Best of luck with your recovery.

You should go back to your surgeon without delay.  Chills, sweating, and a leaky wound equals wound infection until proven otherwise.
