Answer: Considering surgery This question is best answered after an examination by a board certified plastic surgeon. BMI is certainly one of the criteria used to determine candidacy for surgery. Typically a BMI of 30 or under is recommended to keep risks from increasing for complications such as poor wound healing and infection. See an experienced surgeon for a consultation to determine if surgery is recommended for you at this time.

Answer: Tummy tuck over 32 BMI I would suggest calling offices in the Uk and seeing what their bmi requirements are. In the USA the requirements are 30 and below. Make sure to visit a board certified plastic surgeon when picking a surgeon.

Answer: Tummy tuck You have done well in keeping your weight off for so long, no mean feat! Certainly a tummy tuck would be possible and most surgeons would offer it up to a BMI of around 35. Most surgeons do prefer to do it under a BMI of 30 as the results not only appear better for you, but there also many fewer complications. Ensure you choose a plastic surgeon registered with BAAPS or BAPRAS ,as they are the leading UK recognized professional groups.

Answer: Optimal weight for tummy tuck Hi, it is always best to be at or near your optimal weight when having any type of body contouring surgery. This results in best outcomes and reduces the risk of complications. It is not always possible or realistic for patients to reach their ideal weight. Sometimes having surgery can help motivate patients to lose more weight as they feel more confident exercising. It is important that you have a frank discussion with your surgeon and that you appreciate the increased risks that come with having a higher BMI. You have done very well to lose 5 stone and to keep it off for 3 years. My personal view is that your current BMI of 32 should to be a barrier to surgery. Good luck.

Answer: Can you get a TT in the UK with a BMI of 32? Thank you for such common question. There is no clear indication about a suitable BMI to have a TT. It is well known that it is safer with BMI less than 30 but a lot of patients achieves excellent result with a BMI of 30-35 as long as they are aware that they have a high risk of complication especially with wound infection and delayed wound healing. I am sure your Plastic surgeon will discuss the associated risks and complications in his/her consultation.
