Breast augmentation post op day 6. Is it normal to have stiffness and tightness?

I just got my breast augmentation 6 days ago. Is it normal to have stiffness + tightness on the breasts? Sometimes i have burning/tingling sensations on the boobs. Normal? When do i feel they are part of my body and when will the become softer? I know they are still new but Im very paranoid that i will have capsular contracture because they are stiff right now. Everyday i feel better but the tightness still there.

Tightness for the first few weeks is normal after breast augmentation.  It is important to discuss this with your doctor to see if you may begin massage exercises to begin the softening process.  Massage is only done with smooth-surface implants.    If you have textured implants, patience is the key!   It often takes 6 - 8 weeks for the firmness to resolve and noticably softer breasts to emerge!Best wishes!

It is normal to have swelling and feel stiffness six days after breast augmentation surgery.  There is swelling associated with the procedure which is evident for at least four to six weeks after the surgery. The swelling will slowly resolve while the timing and amount varies with the individual patient.  Your first menstrual cycle after your augmentation may increase the feeling of swelling and stiffness.  Limiting sodium intake may be of benefit.  As your should be seeing your plastic surgeon frequently after the procedure let him or her know of your concerns.

Dear Lover101,It is most certainly normal to have stiffness and tightness at 6 days. Maintain close communication with your plastic surgeon but capsular contracture takes months or years to develop; the stiffness you are experiencing now is most likely inflammation (swelling). I wish you the best.
