Prenatal vitamins 1 week prior to surgery (breast augmentation)?

Question

I will have surgery( breast augmentation )on August 28,2015.I am stop taking prenatal vitamins(which is my family doctor prescribed to me)today, 1 week prior surgery.I know ,I should stop taking some specific medicines and herbal supplements 2 weeks before and after surgery .I don't know if prenatal vitamins includes in this list. Is there any chance that surgery may be postponed to another day because of that?Since today is Friday and my doctor's office closed ,maybe some surgeons may answer me

That is a great question.It is important that you share the specific ingredients of your vitamins
with your plastic surgeon in advance.The
particular content of your own prenatal vitamins might differ from others.It will be best for you to discuss the
specific medications which you are taking with your plastic surgeon.That being said, if you are taking prenatal
vitamins because you are in process of getting pregnant, this would not be the
best timing in my mind.I wish you the

You need to check with your surgeon.  In my opinion it should be fine provided these are standard prenatal vItamins.

I usually make people stop taking vitamons unless I know every ingredient. Lit's of Vitamins can prolong bleeding and cause bruising. Best to ask your surgeon!

Vitamin formulations vary but most are ok before surgery. Surgeon preference varies so discuss with your surgeon on Monday. Unless you are truly vitamin deficient, there is little harm in delaying starting them. If you are taking prenatal vitamins because you are (or are planning on being) pregnant, that's a separate issue and you should likely postpone surgery. I hope this helps
