Is it safe to have Botox in my face if I have an injection for my psoriasis called Ustekimumab?

I currently have an injection for my psoriasis called Ustekimumab (Stelara). It is a human monoclonal antibody. Is it safe for me to have Botox injections in my face?

Botox has not been studied in women who are pregnant, however, many of my patients have had treatment without knowledge of their pregnancy and had no issues. The medication is not absorbed into the body at cosmetic doses and is only effective locally. In my opinion you have nothing to worry...

Certainly you can have Botox injections at age 47. The only concern you should have is if you have contraindications.

Thank you for your question. The dropping you describe (which is not noticeable in the photo) is not typical of a response 3 weeks after Botox injections or following Juvederm injections in the cheeks. If it persists, follow up with your injector. Good luck.

Congratulations on the good news. You have nothing to be concerned about. There will be no effect on your baby since Botox was injected before you conceived. Good luck with the pregnancy.
