When the inflammation organizes into a bump that persists, we call that a chalazia. Chalazia are not caused by spit splashing on the eye.

You do not need surgery to resolve your stye. Many of these lesions do resolve on their own without any intervention. However, it is possible to have a steroid injection into the inflammatory mass of the lesion and this will likely resolve the issue without resorting to eyelid surgery. It is really not necessary to have these lesions managed by surgery. Surgery is common because ophthalmologists make hundreds more dollars from your insurance company for performing surgery rather than an injection explaining why these potentially disfiguring surgeries are so common.

I’m not sure your friend spitting in your eye has anything to do with your condition.
I suggest you get medical assistance sooner rather than later repaired.
I think you should be on anabiotic and potentially have the infection drained if it doesn’t respond quickly to antibiotics.
I suggest consulting with an ophthalmologist or oculoplastic surgeon in your community.
If you can’t get in to see one quickly then maybe an emergency department visit is in order.
I recommend you avoid making your own medical assessments.
