People very confused about losing and gaining weight after the procedure or before , the question is very confus, if you transfer the fat from the abdominal to the buttocks if you lose the weight after bbl is it going to shrink ? but if you’re going to gain the weight back so technically the results of bbl will be back just fine as the surgery will remain same ? Or these new fat going to be lost or back to abdomenal ? We need to know the Actual mechanism
Answer: Weight loss after BBL Thanks for your question. Weight loss, weight gain and exercise do affect BBL results. The fat transferred to your buttocks is affected in the same manner as when you normally lose weight or gain weight or exercise. Hope this helps. Please always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Take care, Moises Salama MD, board certified plastic surgeon

Answer: Weight loss Dear Niinnna, generally speaking, you want to reach your goal weight before you consider surgery otherwise, your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Will BBL results shrink if you lose weight after surgery? If you lose weight after your BBL then YES your butt and hips will shrink in size. If you then gain weight later on it is not guaranteed that your butt and hips will grow back up and look as they did post op. The stress on your body of weight gain/loss tends to have more negative affects than most patients understand. It is best to be a stable weight at the time of surgery with no plan to gain/lose any weight after the surgery. This is the best scenario to keeping your post surgery results intact.

Answer: Unnecessary confusion Both liposuction and fat transfer procedures permanently change someone’s fat distribution. People can gain and lose weight but doing so doesn’t change the fat distribution. Fat distribution is unrelated to weight fluctuations. Parts of the body that have thin layers of fat will have less change with significant weight change while areas that have thick layers of fat have a more pronounced change with weight fluctuations. For example, the back of your hand doesn’t have very much fat. if you gain or lose a few pounds the back of your hand doesn’t change all that much. that’s because there isn’t very much fat there. Now take the lower abdomen, love handles thighs or wherever someone has substantial amounts of fat and those areas will fluctuate much more with weight fluctuations because that’s where their fat distribution is focused. Liposuction and fat transfer procedures change the fat distribution. Hope that helps. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: BBL Hello, and thanks for your question. If you lose weight after your surgery, you may lose weight in your buttock area, but you will not lose the shape of the contour your surgeon designed for your body. Your buttocks may fortunately be the last place you lose weight. The same thing goes for if you gain weight. You will gain weight all over, but will not lose the shape of the contour, unless of course you gain a lot of weight. Everyone is different, so keep that in mind. Please see a board-certified physician for your consultation. Best of luck to you!
