Hi, I had a breast augmentation and I am noticing that my breast are very far apart especially when laying down. I have photos posted below. Is this something I can have fixed? If so, is it usually a difficult procedure?
Answer: BA results Dear Cool292392, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Breasts Your lateral pockets can be tightened and you may need some support with an internal mesh bra. Natural breasts do fall to the sides when laying down, but you have more movement than desired.

Answer: Lateral Displacement of Implants After BA Thank you for your question. Yes it certainly looks like lateral displacement. This can be corrected with tightening the pocket laterally with or without mesh, and releasing more tissue medially. Check with your board certified plastic surgeon for more advice.

Answer: Lateral displacement This is a common problem with breast implants. The lateral chest has little natural support and over time the implant slide off the cheat into the armpit. A reconstruction of the lateral support is required. I use a synthetic mesh for this repair. This is successful most of the time. Some patient are best served by removing the implants and scar tissue and starting oved in 6 months with the placement of the implants in a new position. (If the augmentation was on top of the muscle place under the muscle and if first placed under the muscle then replace on top of the muscle. )

Answer: Breast augmentation YES and NO! First, you did not put ANY anterior (frontal) photos of you in the standing position to evaluate how you look. Yes, all breasts travel laterally in the laying down position. Yes, your pockets appear to be a little more open laterally (which may be repaired by suturing the lateral portions). This is a technically challenging procedure, but not overly difficult or dangerous. Best wishes. Dr. Taranow
