You probably have some scar tissue in that area. You could try external ultrasound treatments or radiofrequency treatments to see if that could help the pain. If your surgeon does not have this equipment, he could send you to s physical therapist who would.

However, based on your description, it seems like the sutures placed to stabilize your tissues to the rib are causing a great deal of discomfort. This typically will improve with time. You may want to take some anti-inflammatory medication if you are not allergic or have any conditions that would be a contraindication. This might help ease the discomfort.
