Does "Dropping and fluffing" put pressure on your incisions? To the point of discomfort...?

Question

Ive been doing some dropping the past 2weeks and since my incisions have been sore and sort of achey.my left has been higher since surgery and now is really coming down and that's where I feel the most issue. The past day if I massage my upper pole, the boob feels very tight beneath,like I'm putting pull on the incision. I used to have extra skin beneath but now when I massage it feels everything is filled in almost tightly so! Whereas if I push the top or side it pulls the bottom upward,normal?

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs  As an implant "drops and fluffs" the silicone begins to redistribute to the lower portion of your breasts.  This can place some temporary pressure along your incision site causing some increased soreness or discomfort.  As long as you have not seen any changes to your incision site all is likely well and you are feeling normal healing.  Hope this helps.

Thank you for your question and photograph.  Breast implants that are place under the muscle do tend to drop in about 3 weeks post procedure.  That being said, your final result cannot be judged until a full 4-6 months.  My advice is to follow the specific instructions given to you by your plastic surgeon regarding implant massage.  Best of luck.

Yes, the drop and fluff could certainly add a bit of pressure on the incisions, especially when this is combined with massage. Incisions can naturally be more sensitive as people heal. Speak with your plastic surgeon  about this concern.Best wishes, Dr. Aldo

Plastic surgeons have their own techniques and routines to improve post operative results and scarring. I suggest that you talk to your plastic surgeon about it. I do recommend waiting for a few more months to see the final result. I do not recommend putting too much pressure to the point of discomfort or pain.

Congratulations on having undergone the breast augmentation procedure.  Keep in mind that your plastic surgeon will always be your best resource when it comes to accurate assessment  and advice.  It is not unusual for patients to feel more pressure/discomfort along the lower poles as breast implants fully "settle" into the space dissected during breast augmentation surgery. My best advice; close follow up and careful compliance with post op instructions.
