I am getting a breast Augmentation Feb 18 and my friend birthday party is Feb 24th at a club would it be unsanitary for me to go to a club and drink?
Answer: Breast Augmentation post op Thank you for your question. It is always best to first discuss your plans with you operating surgeon as every surgeon creates their own set of post operative instructions for their patients. That being said, in our practice we advise patients to refrain from activities that will increase their heart rate for a minimum of two weeks. We also advise out patients to refrain from alcohol for a minimum of 10-14 days post surgery. With kind regards,Lane F. Smith, M.D., F.A.A.C.S., F.A.O.H.N.S., F.A.B.F.P.R.S.Las Vegas Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Recovery after breast augmentation As long as you don't intend to do much or drink much, you should be able to go and have a quiet night. Common sense should prevail. Regards, Dr Steve Merten, Sydney, Australia

Answer: Prob not a good idea. You may still be taking some pain medications, if you get hit in the chest you could develop a hematoma, which might mean you would need to go back to the OR to take care of the problem, 6 days post-op, not a good idea.

Answer: Breast Augmentation/Breast Implants/Anatomic Gummy Bear Implants/ Silicone Implants/Breast Implant Revision I appreciate your question. Typically, my guideline is, the first week is the hardest. By the second week you feel better, at four weeks you feel 100% and at six weeks you can go back to complete normal routines and exercising. Four days after surgery, I would be careful as you are still at risk for bleeding. If you are taking any pain medication, I would not drink alcohol. Please review all questions and concerns with your surgeon. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic plastic surgery. Best of luck! Dr. Schwartz Board Certified Plastic Surgeon #RealSelf100Surgeon #RealSelfCORESurgeon

Answer: Party after augmentation Thank you for your question. It is ill-advised to attend such a party just 6 days following a breast augmentation. You risk injury to yourself and, as mentioned by one of my colleagues, you should not be drinking alcohol while taking narcotics (which you may still require at that time). Best to celebrate with your friend another time. Or, if you feel compelled to attend, do not consume alcohol and stay far away from the dance floor melee. Best of luck to you.
