Thank you for your question. It is always best to first discuss your plans with you operating surgeon as every surgeon creates their own set of post operative instructions for their patients. That being said, in our practice we advise patients to refrain from activities that will increase their heart rate for a minimum of two weeks. We also advise out patients to refrain from alcohol for a minimum of 10-14 days post surgery. With kind regards,Lane F. Smith, M.D., F.A.A.C.S., F.A.O.H.N.S., F.A.B.F.P.R.S.Las Vegas Plastic Surgeon
As long as you don't intend to do much or drink much, you should be able to go and have a quiet night. Common sense should prevail. Regards, Dr Steve Merten, Sydney, Australia
a good idea. You may still be taking some pain medications, if you get hit in the chest you could develop a hematoma, which might mean you would need to go back to the OR to take care of the problem, 6 days post-op, not a good idea.
I appreciate your question. Typically, my guideline is, the first week is the hardest. By the second week you feel better, at four weeks you feel 100% and at six weeks you can go back to complete normal routines and exercising. Four days after surgery, I would be careful as you are still at risk for bleeding. If you are taking any pain medication, I would not drink alcohol. Please review all questions and concerns with your surgeon. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic plastic surgery. Best of luck! Dr. Schwartz Board Certified Plastic Surgeon #RealSelf100Surgeon #RealSelfCORESurgeon
Thank you for your question. It is ill-advised to attend such a party just 6 days following a breast augmentation. You risk injury to yourself and, as mentioned by one of my colleagues, you should not be drinking alcohol while taking narcotics (which you may still require at that time). Best to celebrate with your friend another time. Or, if you feel compelled to attend, do not consume alcohol and stay far away from the dance floor melee. Best of luck to you.
If I were your surgeon I would reschedule your surgery for either earlier in Feb or after the event.
Nothing substitutes for good judgement after surgery to minimize the risk of complications and ensure a great outcome! 6 days after surgery you may still require pain medications, and you definitely should not be drinking while taking narcotics. Alcohol may also increase swelling. Activities that increase heart rate and blood pressure may predispose to the development of a hematoma. Also being in an environment, like a crowded dance floor, where you could get bumped or hit, would be unwise, as it could contribute to post op pain and discomfort. I would encourage you to discuss your surgeon's specific restrictions, but you may want to sit this one out.
Yes, it is ok to leave your eyelid extensions on during a breast augmentation. However, be sure to tell the anesthesia provider/ anesthesiologist about your extensions so that they will be careful of them during the procedure. Also discuss with your plastic surgeon.
Thank you for your question! There can be many factors contributing to the "lines" you speak of. If your surgery was very recent it is possible this will relax and settle in and there will be no issue at all. I recommend following up with your surgeon and start there. Best wishes!
Plastic surgeons have their own techniques and routines to improve post operative results and scarring. I suggest that you talk to your plastic surgeon about it. I do recommend waiting for a few more months to see the final result. I do not recommend putting too much pressure to the point of...
