**Breasts Augmentation was 6/25/14** I already had bruises on my sides near my side boob. But just noticed 6/27/14 that I was starting to get bruising in my cleavage area. I'm going to see my surgeon for a post op appointment in a few days, but in the meantime, what should do?!

Thank you for the picture. There's very little you can do about the bruising now. You must let it run its course. Your picture looks fine that does not appear to be any evidence of a hematoma. Good luck

Bruising after a breast augmentation is very common. For the majority of patients, most bruising will resolve within 2 weeks of your surgery. However, I recommend seeing your surgeon to be sure you are healing properly.

Thank you for your question and photo. The amount of bruising is normal.  Any time you have a major surgery, like a breast augmentation, you can get bruising.  The amount of bruising you have is not out of the ordinary.  There is nothing you can do as a patient to reduce the amount of bruising that you have. Dear Joannie, Bruising can happen after breast augmentation. Your breasts appear symmetric so the concern for a hematoma is less.  It is always best to contact your plastic surgeon with any concerns, as they can examine you in person if they feel the need. Beat wishes.

Some patients bruise more than the others. Different sides heal differently. Your breasts look normal --unless you have any sharp pain, or discharge or fever-- it's normal to have bruising after the surgery. If you have any post op questions- it is always best to address it with your PS.

Thank you for including a pictures.  You look symmetrical and your bruising is minimal.  You may be noticing some as it works its way to the surface but your result looks very good at this point.  If the bruising worsens or your pain increases you should follow up with your surgeon.

Bruising after surgery is common, but from the photo, your bruising doesn't appear to be excessive or cause to worry.  Bruising can last anywhere from 7-10 days, so just keep an eye on it and if you notice it getting worse or your breast swelling, contact your surgeon right away.  Otherwise, continue following post-op instructions until you see your surgeon at your follow up visit.  ac

If the bruising is intense (not evident from your picture) and at the lower pole of the breast it can be a sign of hematoma; especially if the size has changed.  Bruising over the breastbone is of less consequence.  I wouldn't worry.  It looks like your surgeon did a great job.I hope this helps.
