I’m 44 and have awful saggy skin on either side of my chin. I’ve tried ultherapy and fillers-neither have helped. I’m thinking maybe the filler was injected to the wrong spot because I feel it looks worse. What can I do for this area? I can’t stand it.
Answer: Options in Skin Tightening Thank you for your question and I am sorry you have not seen positive results thus far. It is very possible you are correct in your assumption the filler was not placed in the right spot to achieve the desired effect. Although fillers are a common procedure, they do require expertise in facial anatomy and precision in placement to produce an optimal outcome. If the fillers you received were hyaluronic acid, you can have them dissolved. Once the old filler is gone, an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon can reapply the filler to produce a better result. I also offer microneedling with PRP for skin firming and rejuvenation. This procedure creates tiny channels in the dermal structure that trigger the body to produce more collagen. The additional collagen adds support that smooths and firms the outer dermis. If you are interested in a longer-lasting outcome, a surgical facelift procedure might offer excellent results as well.

Answer: Minimize appearance of saggy jowls and fine lines with Morpheus8 Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Skin Tightening Thank you for your question. I'm surprised that skin filers did not help. You may be correct in that the filler was placed in the wrong location. You may want things to settle down and wait a couple of months to determine what if anything needs to be performed. If you cannot wait, the filler, if a HA can be dissolved. Going forward, a great deal depends upon your expectations. Thread lifts can help in situation like yours. It is temporary but usually lasts longer than injectable fillers. You may also benefit from radio frequency treatments. They do take a series of treatments so you would need to be patient. Best to seek a face to face consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon that is a member of ASAPS and ASPS. Sincerely, Dr. Kulick

Answer: Treatment of Marionette and Jowl Area Thank you for your question and pictures. The mistake many injectors make when treating the marionette and jowl area is they attempt to only fill the area directly without addressing the loss of structural support in the midface and around the mouth which contributes to the worsening of the area. I'm a big fan of ThermiTight to help stimulate collagen production under the skin and Sculptra which will also create collagen production and volumize the area. The results will develop over time, but will be natural and long lasting. Make sure you see an experienced physician for an in-person consultation and examination. Best wishes.

Answer: Mini Facelift & Mini neck lift -- FaceTite RF for internal skin tightening + Neck Liposuction for definition/contouring FaceTite can internally tighten the skin in the lower face and neck. After all the skin has been heated and contracted, we shape the neck with liposuction to give definition and remove stubborn pockets of fat. In one quick treatment, we can tighten skin, remove fat, and contour the lower face, jawline, and jowls with only a weekend of downtime. Keep in mind that combination approaches will give you a more significant improvement as opposed to a single procedure. I recommend getting a consultation with a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
