Laser removal on a raised tattoo?

There should be no problem with tattoo removal laser treatment even if there is an underlying raised scar. Picosure would be state of the art depending on the color of the ink. You may also need some QSwitched YAG such as Revlite SI. A word of caution however, it is unusual to develop a raised scar after tattooing. You may be genetically prone to scarring. It is therefore essential that you seek treatment from a highly experienced laser dermatologist.  Treatment should be done at the lowest possible power settings to reduce the risk of further scarring even if this makes treatment slower. 

Laser tattoo removal with PicoSure or one of the Q-Switched laser such as the QX-max Laser may help the scar and Tattoo. Once the tattoo is gone a laser like the Fraxel Restore Laser could be used for more treatments on the scars if necessary.
