I had a mole removed last month and despite putting vaseline on it every day it doesn't look like the skin is going to fill in. Should I wait to go see a plastic surgeon or can I go now to get resutured? Is there a better option for me. I had a rhinoplasty done last year, not sure if that can affect the healing process.
Answer: Scar revision nose If your pictures show a scar that is one month old, I would protect it from sun exposure. It should look better with time. There would be nothing to "suture" at this time period. Doing a scar revision early on can complicate things. Once your mole treatment site has healed, that's when you can consider having a scar revision, micro-needling or perhaps just a filler. It all depends on what it looks like. There are plenty of pictures in the link provided for you to review. Hope this helps. Answer: Scar Revision Thanks or your question and photo. I appreciate your concern. At one month, the scar is still red, but I believe that revision with excision and careful closure will yield a much better result. Consult with a plastic surgeon who can directly assess you. Even if you opt for revision, you should wait until the scar softens and matures. Best Regards.Dr Deboni@drdeboni

Answer: Try PRP This is such a small lesion that it may fill in and heal well just using microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or a couple subcutaneous PRP injections. You'll need to find someone in your area who is experienced with PRP and its use in scar revision.

Answer: Scar on nose The rhinoplasty is nit affecting the healing of the biopsy site. I would recommend a revision of this area which is basically roughening up the edges of the area so they can expect to granulate together if sutured shut. Then, wait for 4-6 weeks for that scar to form. The scar from that would most likely be more desirable than the current divet. But if scar , although improved, is still an issue at that point, microneedling coukd be used on the scar to diminish it.

Answer: Nose scar Dear San Francisco,Thank you for your inquiry. A large divoted nose scar would be treated with repositioning of the skin to cover it. The scar from that may be larger than the original divot.Prp with microneedling over time may be your best bet for a smaller scar over time. Silvadene may also be of benefit. Best.
