Can deep (one-time) CO2 laser be used on head, neck & chest?

I like the idea of having a one-time treatment & getting it over with/seeing results quicker, but wasn't sure if it was safe to use this laser on the neck & chest in addition to the face. Thanks!

CO2 laser resurfacing can be used to safely treat the face, neck, and chest.  The intensity or settings of the laser are dependent on several factors including the area being treated, the degree of sun damage (brown spots) and wrinkles, and the quality and pigmentation of the patient,s skin.In general, the face can be treated with a "one-time" treatment whereas the neck and chest will be improved after one treatment (at a lower laser setting) but may need more than one treatment.  The reason for this is that the higher settings used on the face (for one-time treatments) can not be used on the neck and chest because the skin of the neck and chest would not heal well and the chances of scarring would be very high.  In short, the skin of the neck and chest have fewer (and a lower density population) of pilosebaceous units (hair follicles) than facial skin, and these units are required to heal from laser resurfacing.The following link provides more information.I hope this helps

This can be done, but needs someone with expertise as these areas take much more time to heal and have higher risk of complications .  I suggest seeing an expert and using PRP post treatment to enhance healing times.  Best, Dr. Emer.
