I am considering getting a deep one-time CO2 laser treatment on my face/neck/chest & see that there is 2-3 weeks of downtime. After the downtime, does any pinkness/redness continue & if so, how long would it be before I would see the final results of a fully-resurfaced complexion?

Answer: How long is complete healing time from a deep CO2 laser?
We see our patients very closely for 12 weeks after co2 laser resurfacing. In my practice you cannot use vitamin A (retinol or tretinoin) for 4-6 weeks after healing, but I do very aggressive co2 resurfacing. I suggest asking your physician. Best, Dr. Emer.

I suggest seeing your Specialist who performed this laser. Given the darker skin type, PIH or skin darkening is not infrequent. Using methods such as bleaching creams- Vitamin A before and after the procedure can help reduce side effects. You really need to see the treating surgeon who...
