I’m 27 (mtf transgender) seeking to reduce double chin. I have submental fat and Think i also have some subplatysmal fat contributing to neck fullness. To get my ideal neck contour, i might be able to do it with lipo alone, but i think i might get better, results with a platysmaplasty and subplatysmal fat removal with a more conservative submental lipo. Can get this done without a cervicoplasty? I’m 27 and think i have good skin elasticity, despite previous weight loss.
Answer: Anterior neck lift It apperas that anterior neck lift which will allow direct excision of both superficial and deep neck fat would be a good procedure for you. Through a small incision underneath the chin one could asses and reduce necessary fat related deformity and adjust platysma muscle as needed. Additional liposuction of lateral neck and along jawline may further "soften" your neck. There is no need for skin resection and the only scar would be underneath your chin. In person evaluation is recommended. Good luck.

Answer: Neck lift vs liposuction Given your age, you should be able to have a reduction in your neck fullness with all of the procedures you listed. It all depends on how tight you want your new neck to look like. This requires a face-to-face-consultation to provide you the best treatment options.Sincerely, Michael Kulick MD Board Certified Plastic Surgeon - San Francisco, Ca Member of ASPS, ASAPS Recipient of the Klingbeil Award – Teaching Safe Techniques and Advanced Technologies

Answer: Yes it is possible In someone who is young, it is very possible do to a liposuction and platysmaplasty without doing the lateral pulls usually seen with a neck lift. this can be done through a single sub mental incision, however an exam is needed to make sure that you don’t have too much excess skin.

Answer: Question about Neck Based on the photographs, in my opinion, you could either have liposuction alone or an anterior neck lift through a small incision. I believe you will get a more predictable result and better removal of fat with the necklift. But if you do not want an incision or undergo something invasive, then liposuction is a good option since you are young and have good skin elasticity. Hope this helps.
