It is possible to have muscle or nerve damage in the course of neck surgery. This kind of complication can happen to anyone in particular if there was some unusual nerve/muscle anatomy. However, on the basis of your photos one can not make any conclusion whether you have such an injury. Clinical evaluation is necessary to give you a more detailed opinion. Good luck.

It is impossible to form a diagnostic opinion based on online information alone.  But I would suggest a visit to a MD physiotrist.  He/she is a medical doctor who specializes in evaluating neuromuscular function and defecits.  This may be a better option than a reconstructive surgeon.  You need a diagnosis first, then treatment.  Good luck
