Brazilian butt lift. Is there a maximum weight limit for this surgery?

Thank you for your question. We use your height and weight to calculate a Body Mass Index. This is because someone weighing 250 lbs. and 5'3'' tall is not the same at 250 lbs and 6'3'' tall. You can calsulate your BMI from any BMI chart on the internet. If your BMI is over 35, you should lose weight first, in order to minimize the risks of complication during and after surgery. Please consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. 

If you lose weight, you will lose some volume in the buttocks and
some in that body area as well. It is best to try not to lose weight prior to
surgery so that the donor site will provide enough fat for the Brazilian Butt
Lift.  I would recommend discussing
weight loss options with your Plastic Surgeon during your consultation. 

   Most plastic surgeons will tell you to at least be below a BMI of 35 to reduce risks associated with the surgery.  There are other factors to consider as well.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA

Thank you for your question. Every surgeon has a different policy, but weight limits are use for a multiple reasons. One, when someone's body mass index (BMI) is above certain thresholds, typically 30, the risk of complications with the procedure increases. Second, when someone is at a lower weight, they have better overall result from the surgery. The results are more noticeable and the patient's tend to be happier with their appearance. Obviously, safety is the number one priority. If you feel confident with the advice that you have received, then you may consider losing weight prior to the procedure.

BMI should be less than 30 prior to elective surgery for health and safety reasons.Seek a plastic surgeon who performs hundreds of these procedures, has great reviews and photos, and is an expert in this field.

There is no specific weight limitation for a BBL.
H plastic surgeon use their own discretion to make decisions of who and when to operate.
There are extremes both on the low weight and height weight or BMIs when good judgment says at BBL it's not appropriate.
It's always a good idea and something I recommend to each and every patient to get several consultations.
