The possible outcome of a Brazilian butt lift surgery depends on a couple of factors, and your available donor fat is on of those. In general, patients with a BMI between 26-30 are usually the best candidates, and can achieve the best results. It depends on what you want to achieve.
Thank you very much for your question. Overall, it isrecommended that patients have a BMI of less than 30 before moving forward witha cosmetic procedure, such as the Brazilian butt lift (BBL). However, thereneeds to be adequate fatty tissue for the fat transfer. To determine if a BBLis right for you, I suggest that you schedule an in-person consultation with anexperienced, board certified plastic surgeon. He/she will perform a physicalexamination, review your medical history, and discuss your long-term aestheticgoals in detail. If so, a customized BBL treatment plan can then be createdaround your specific needs.
You do not have to be a certain weight to be a good candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift, however, you do have to have enough fat on your body for the surgeon to be able to harvest which will then be injected into the buttocks. Additionally, you will want to make sure you are close to your ideal weight as drastic changes in weight loss or gain can impact your results.
You should be at a healthy weight prior to having a BBL so that the risks of surgery are reduced.Kenneth Hughes, MD
The recommended BMI is less than 30. This is the recommendation of the American society of plastic surgery. The reason simply, is increased chance of complications. These include but limited to, pulmonary embolus, deep venous thrombosis, delayed wound healing and increase infection rate. A Brazilian butt lift is a safe and effective procedure that combines liposuction of the abdomen hips waist and back and then fat grafting to the gluteal region. This is a safe and effective way to contour the lower body. After a successful Brazilian Butt lift, the fat that remains will stay there for the rest of your life. Like the rest of the tissue in your body this fat will grow and age with you.Choose a board certified plastic surgeon who has done a ton of Brazilian Butt Lifts and has privileges to do this surgery at a local university hospital. This says his credentials have been checked out by fellow Drs. All surgeries carry risk, talk to your plastic surgeon and choose one wisely. Many surgeons, including myself, offer online virtual consultations where you send us your photos and we can estimate the cost. I, like many surgeons, also offer free consultations so that you can be examined and given the most accurate quote.
BMI should be less than 30 prior to elective surgery for health and safety reasons. Evaluation should be done to assess how much fat is available for the transfer. So, there is not really a specific answer with regard to weight. It depends on your height, body frame, and your goals. Good luck.
Thank you very much for your question and photograph. Congratulations on your recent Brazilian Butt Lift, as well. At 17 days’ post-op, you are still in the early stages of healing. Bruising is common and should resolve in the coming days. Tenderness can last for several weeks and swelling may t...
Thank you for your question. The amount of liposuction associated with a BBL depends on how much volume the patient wants to add to the area, and how much volume they wish to reduce from their trouble areas such as the abdomen, waits, upper lower back, thighs, and arms among others. Patients who...
Thank you for your question! A Brazilian butt lift requires the patient to have a bit of extra fat in other areas to transfer to the buttocks. Also, not all of the fat transferred will take. Unfortunately, you might not have enough fat to achieve these results. A good alternative to...
