I am unhappy with the size of my breast implants. I wish they were bigger. Is it possible to do a fat transfer to achieve more fullness and increase the size?

Hello @Khloe14109, thank you for your question. Yes, you can have lipoinjections to the breast if you have implants. Depending on where the implants are placed, fat seeding can be accomplished. The surgical plan would depend on what you want to improve. The most appropriate course of action is to consult one or several board certified plastic surgeons. It does demand a little more care and experience on part of your surgeon in planning and performing  the procedure. We had very good experience with additional shaping and voluminization of breasts after implant augmentation using fat grafts. It is good way to improve fulness in the upper pole and create the cleavege. However, significant augmentation, more than 1/2 cup size, may require 2 stages. Hope this hjelps.

Yes, fat transfers can be done to increase the size. The fat transfers are usually good for 1 cup size increase. However, there is an added danger of rupturing the implants with the fat transfer, particularly if the implants are pre-pectoral.

fat transfer can be an option after breast implants. Fat transfer is also widely used in reconstruction of the breast after a mastectomy or lumpectomy. It can also be very effective in correcting the size and shape of the breasts due to genetic problems such as tuberous breast or Poland Syndrome, two conditions that look like misshapen or underdeveloped breasts.In addition, the following scenarios are also reason to consider breast fat grafting:• If you have chest areas that appear creased and sunken• If you desire more permanent correction than is provided by temporary fillers• If you wish to improve your body contour, revise scars, fill bodily depressions and rejuvenate the natural curve of your breasts• To fill in contour irregularities or hide obvious signs of breast implantsYou should discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon and make sure your surgeon understands your concerns and your breast augmentation goals. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

If you have minimal breast tissue, exchanging your implants would be best. If you have at least a 
B cup of tissue prior to implants, then a fat transfer might work. You will also need to have donor fat. What I can see in your photo does not show much extra fat. The implants have stretched and thinned your own tissue, so your surgeon will need to examine you and see how much actual breast tissue is present and if fat transfer is reasonable. Also, with fat, you can expect a half to maybe one cup increase in size. Your size looks very nice now and does fit your frame.  Please do not go too large.

Although your breasts look great, fat transfer breast augmentation is an option for further enhancement if you have fat to move.  There will be a risk of puncturing your implants, and there is an uncertainty in the amount of fat survival.  Your other option would be placing larger implants.  Good luck!
