Hi there- I have a question! I had a fat transfer in my breasts in 2021 to replace lost volume. I had implants in 2008 and they are still perfect so this is all that I needed! I gained a little weight post a bad breakup (16 pounds) and my boobs got bigger. I’m now losing hre weight and almost back to normal but they have not gone back to normal! They still look great but are just a little bigger than I’d like and I prefer my precious size. Will they go back to normal?
Answer: Breasts You have extra fat from the transfer that also gained weight along with your natural breast fat. You may go back down in size, or you might stay a little larger. If you wind up too large, you can consider liposuction to remove some fat.

Answer: Weight gain post fat transfer Dear tnicole37, it is hard to tell but in most cases, breasts will reduce in size after weight loss. If you end up with undesired breast size, you can consult your plastic surgeon and get an examination. Answer: Will breasts go back to normal after weight gain post fat transfer in 2021? Hello @tnicole37, thank you for your question. The fat that was transferred to your breasts acts like the rest of the fat in your body: it can enlarge or shrink in response to weight gain or loss. As you're losing weight, it's possible that the size of your breasts may decrease. However, it might not return exactly to the size you had post-surgery. This is because the amount of fat each person retains and where they lose fat from when they lose weight is different. Also, about your implants, even though you mentioned they are still perfect since their placement in 2008, it's recommended to consider changing them around every 10 years. A consultation is vital to establishing a surgical plan that meets your needs, meets your expectations, and takes into account what is possible. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS. Answer: Breast size after fat grafting After undergoing a fat transfer to the breasts (breast fat grafting), the results can be affected by subsequent weight gain or loss, just as they can be with natural breast tissue. It's important to understand that fat cells can expand or shrink with changes in body weight, which can impact the appearance of the breasts. Here are some key points to consider:Weight Gain: If you experience weight gain after a fat transfer to the breasts, the transferred fat cells in the breast area can also increase in size, leading to a potential increase in breast size. This may result in fuller-looking breasts.Weight Loss: Conversely, if you lose weight, including fat from other areas of your body, you may also experience some reduction in the volume of the transferred fat in your breasts. This can lead to a decrease in breast size or fullness.Maintaining Results: To maintain the results of your fat transfer, it's generally advisable to maintain a stable and healthy weight. Significant fluctuations in body weight can affect the appearance of the breasts and may necessitate additional procedures to achieve your desired outcome. Additionally, with time, gravity, and an increase in size of the breasts, you may experience drooping of the breasts, which may also contribute to you feeling that your breasts are larger. Regardless, if you have questions regarding the appearance or size of your breasts, consulting with a qualified plastic surgeon is recommended.

Answer: Weight change after fat transfer Liposuction and fat transfer will eventually create permanent changes in your fat distribution. Weight gain or weight loss will follow that new fat distribution. Things made change suddenly due to changes in skin elasticity distribution will remain consistent. You have another intervention. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
