White, hard feeling bump appeared on nose few years after my nose surgery in 2010. (Photos)

Question

So I got a nose job down somewhere in 2010 over a couple of years I noticed a small white bump almost looks like a pimple with a white tip, when I first noticed it I actually thought it was a pimple but it's something else. What could this be? Could it be from the surgery I had years ago? It's hard and sorta pointy. It bothers me knowing it's there.

this is most likely cartilage that was manipulated during your surgery and has either gotten a little bent or has duplicated more cartilage. This can be trimmed in the office under a local anesthetic, unless you want to pay thousands to have it done in the OR setting.

It could be cartilage or suture material. Hard to say without an exam, and if it is one of those things, then it would require surgery to remove it.

The bump on the tip you are referring to is most likely either an angulated portion of the tip cartilage, an edge of the tip graft (if one was placed during the original surgery) or a small suture granuloma. If it isn't not very bothersome, it can probably be left alone. Otherwise, you should get a consultation with a rhinoplasty specialist to discuss further options.

It is most likely a portion of the cartilage which is folded tightly and protruding. It can be fixed by resecting the small amount, basically shaving it down.All the best,Talmage Raine MD
