Voluma in cheek takes forever to dissolve, had it done 3 months ago, tried removing it 3 times, should I try again?

Thank you for sharing your experience and I am sorry to hear of your difficulties dissolving Voluma.  The best way at removing Voluma is through hyaluronidase which only dissolves the synthetic filler and not your body's natural HA.  That said if enough of the Voluma has been dissolved that improvement in your appearance can be done with careful placement of additional filler, this may be an option.  Your injector should be guiding you in this course.  

If you're unhappy with your results, you can have it dissolved again with hyaluronidase. It does take a series of treatments to remove filler. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

I am sorry that you are having such as frustrating experience. Dissolving filler takes time and multiple treatments. Having said that, if you aren't getting the results that you desire, it may be time to see another injector with a lot of experience dissolving filler. It is an art in and of itself. 

Dissolving Voluma does take time and multiple treatments, but if you aren't getting the results that you desire, you may want to seek a second opinion from a really experienced injector. Best of luck.

Voluma is tough to remove but will usually respond to multiple treatments of hyaluronidase. If not getting any progress, consider another provider. Make sure that a brand named hyaluronidase is used and not a compounding pharmacy's brand. I prefer to use Hylenex.

Thank you for your question.  I'm sorry to hear that you're unhappy with the results of your Voluma treatment.  Because Voluma is a very robust, long-lasting filler, it often requires multiple hyaluronidase treatments to fully reverse its effects.  It's difficult to make exact recommendations without assessing you in person, or at least reviewing your photos.  That said, if you are still unhappy with the results of your Voluma, it may be worthwhile to try additional hyaluronidase treatments - you may need higher doses than you have been getting.  Your body naturally replenishes the hyaluronic acid in your skin very quickly, and most patients do not experience any permanent damage to their skin after hyaluronidase.  You may also need additional filler to restore volume to your face after your filler has been dissolved.  I would recommend seeing an experienced cosmetic dermatologist to discuss the best treatment plan for you.  Best of luck.
