My nose is very very stuff. it feels fine for about an hour or 2 after my doctor suctions inside but then it goes bad again. is this normal? and when will i breathe better?
Answer: Stuffy nose 10 days after Rhinoplasty? It's very common to be congested following rhinoplasty surgery. This can often cause discomfort to many. I recommend to my patients that they use a saline spray 4 times a day to help relieve their congestion and breathe easier. Best you check with your plastic surgeon to ensure that they would recommend the same protocol. Best of luck,Dr. Philip Solomon - Solomon Facial Plastic - Toronto, Canada

Answer: Rhinoplasty - Recovery Thank you for your posting! It is very common to feel "stuffy" after rhinoplasty. This is a result of the swelling during the healing process, and it can take some time for this to subside. Many surgeons prescribe a nasal spray to help with this discomfort. Consult with your board-certified plastic surgeon regarding any additional recommendations for you. Congratulations on your procedure!

Answer: Stuffy after rhinoplasty Yes, this can be typical. It's still too soon to tell what your final results will be. You need to have patience with your body as it begins to heal. The skin, bone and cartilage are all traumatized during surgery. Inflammation (swelling) is the normal response and will help your nose to heal and look beautiful in the end. If, one year from now, you are unhappy with your nose, then that is the time to think about a revision procedure. Right now, concentrate on other things you like to do and let your nose take its time to heal. I hope this helps.

Answer: Recovering from Rhinoplasty: stuffy nose Recovering from Rhinoplasty is a healing process. Part of that process is waiting for swelling to go down on the outside and on the inside of your nose. Swelling inside your nose gives you that stuffy sensation. Keeping your head up, drink plenty of water, and saline sprays can help. Also, avoid salty food, exercise, and direct heat/sun. You'll see the majority of swelling go down in the first 6-8 weeks; however, there will be flares of swelling throughout the year. Be patient and don't rush the healing process for a safe and happy result. Safety comes first!

Answer: Stuffy nose 10 days after rhinoplasty very common It is normal to feel very stuffy for the first 2-3 weeks following rhinoplasty and mildy stuffy for 2-3 months. Many changes will occur over the course of the first year following rhinoplasty and the congestion should subside after 2-3 months. Using saline spray a few times a day can help alleviate some of the discomfort during the first few months. Stay patient as you are still very early in the healing process.
