It's difficult to say until swelling has resolved, which can take 1-2 weeks. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Dear chergs,Juvederm has significant swelling post injection. I would follow up with you plastic surgeon if you have any concerns but typically I tell all my patients to wait a full two weeks. Generally at 2 weeks they are happy and glad they didn't dissolve.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
There's no way to know about how much swelling you have, but everyone gets swollen with injectables. By two weeks, you should return to see your injector and review your results versus expectations. People with thinner lips like yours, tend to need more than one filler so don't be surprised if that's the recommendation. Best wishes, Dr. ALDO
Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs. Sorry that you are having some concerns about your postprocedure appearance. Swelling is normal after treatment with Juvederm, especially when the lips are injected. The degree of swelling is variable and depends on a number of factors. Swelling can often cause the appearance of asymmetry or unwanted fullness. Please keep in mind that it will take 2 weeks to allow for normal postprocedure swelling to fully resolve and to see your final result. At that point, if you continue to have any concerns, please be sure to see your injector for an in-person reevaluation in order to determine the best course of action. Hope this helps and best wishes!
Although swelling following Juvederm injection may take few days to resolve it appears you have had injection of the upper lip only. This is the most common mistake leading to distortion of natural proportion. Once swelling comes down and the results still bother you, this can be corrected by your injector. Good luck!
Your question is kind of irrelevant because you just had your treatment. Give yourself at least one week for the swelling to go down then a judgment call can be made if still required. Good luck from New York City
Swelling should start getting better after about a handful of days. Give it a full two weeks to settle. After then, you want to see a ratio of top lip being 1/3 and bottom being 2/3.
As it is now over a week since your treatment the swelling and shape of your lip should have started to settle down and, hopefully, you are feeling happier about the overall result. If not, please do return to see your practitioner for an assessment and further advice
Both Allergan (the makers of Juvederm) and Galderma (the makers of Restylane) make lidocaine free syringes. In addition, Sculptra would be a great alternative for you as you could have it injected without mixing it with any lidocaine. Please consult an expert in cosmetic fillers for the best...
Dear hollyberryx0,Thank you for your question. Taking your medication with not interact with the Juvederm injection, however some anti-inflammatory medications such as NSAIDs can increase your risk of bruising if taken before the injection or shortly after. If you are concerned, it is best to...
Many patients can undergo filler injections without experiencing any side effects including no swelling or bruising. However, if swelling were to develop, it usually resolves in less than week especially if there is no bruising. In general, such swelling is more common along marionette lines whi...
