Dear paulsie,Juvederm has significant swelling post injection. I would follow up with you plastic surgeon in case of concern but typically I tell all my patients to wait a full two weeks. Generally at 2 weeks they are happy and glad they didn't dissolve. Dissolving is unpredictable as wellDaniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Thanks for your question. Patients typically have swelling for a week after injections. Using cool packs or ice over the injected area can help keep swelling down. Best of luck!
Swelling can last for 1-2 weeks after HA injections. Keep in mind, a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement in these areas. I recommend fillers for the folds themselves but also lifting around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. In our practice we combine sculptra with other fillers "layered" on top and lasers, rf treatments, J Plasma and peels to get the most conservative natural look. Please see a facial sculpting expert. There should be minimal swelling in this area with Restylane or Juvederm. At about 1 week, the results should be what your long term results will look like. If cannulas are used, the swelling should be less than if needles are used. However, I now use Refyne or Defyne in this area and my preference is needle insertion. There can be some mild nodularity for about a week with this technique.
Hello Paulsie,The type of filler, amount used, and location greatly affect the degree of swelling. The nasolabial folds and marionette lines tend to not have that much swelling, but a moderate amount may be present. It can take up to two weeks for all of the swelling to go away. After that time if you aren't happy with the results you can see about a touch up (if not enough was done) or consider dissolving the product if it is not what you were expecting.I hope this helps and good luck.
The the amount of swelling that is expected from Juvederm injections is different in every single person and it also depends on the doctor's technique. A lot of patients may have no swelling whatsoever and some patients may have swelling that is prolonged especially when bruising is involved. In those patients the swelling starts to go down only after the bruising has completely resolved. Good luck from New York City
Many patients can undergo filler injections without experiencing any side effects including no swelling or bruising. However, if swelling were to develop, it usually resolves in less than week especially if there is no bruising. In general, such swelling is more common along marionette lines which is also more bruise prone area especially in older patients. If you were to experience a bruise at the same time, you should ask if your doctor utilizes a vascular laser - such laser can be used shortly after a bruise develops to expedite its resolution.
Usually the swelling and bruising after HA filler injections lasts 1-2 weeks but you can hasten the recovery with gentle cool compresses to some extent. Cooling the area prior to injection, and using cannulas to inject in strategic locations may also help. Best wishes with your injections.
It is not unusual for some patients to experience some swelling and uneveness after having after having lip injections, but this will normally resolve within a couple of weeks. Gentle massage can help to 'soften' the firmness, but if the lip is painful to the touch you should contact...

It is impossible to say when, or if , Juvederm Volite will be available in US. It all depends on FDA which grants approvals that are not always based on the safety or effectiveness. Volite is a "hydrating" filler with similar indications to Juvederm Hydrate or Stylage HydroMax but...
